EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and it can be customized to suit a wide range of applications. green mobility scooter allows for the optimal placement of battery packs and a lower center of gravity, resulting in higher payload to range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4 with a single wall structure inside and a higher insulation level than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo and a payload that is industry-leading to allow for zero emission goods or passenger transportation.

GreenPower joined forces with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to easily transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours and found it to be simple to drive and comfortable to drive for long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and ruts, while the EV9 is a master of suppressing wind and road noise on the highway. The car's acceleration is surprisingly quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator.
The EV9 offers a great range and can be recharged in three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control and the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for anyone who has not driven an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, microtransit or transit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower is already producing about 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested in Altoona and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA certified. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. Check back as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will provide more information on this EV that is truly innovative!
